My Gmail and Grinnell emails work equally well, too.
Phone
My new Indian cell phone — +91 99103 28653
A US number that connects to the Skype account I access here occasionally, via the magic of the internet — +1 503.616.3790
The Skype number is a normal US number, so it costs the same as calling grumpy Cousin Vic on his Okie ranch. Unlike Vic, however, I get out off the couch now and then, so it can be tougher to catch me. Like Vic’s old rotary, however, Skype won’t record a missed call if you ring when I’m away, so please wait a few secs and leave a voice mail. When the internet is sufficiently speedy, I’ll be overjoyed to hear your voice.
In an emergency, by the way, call my folks, whose names are Tina and Greg. I have no idea what their work schedules are anymore, but the house has two phone lines — +1 503.653.5806 and +1 503.653.9526 — so if there’s no answer on one, feel unjustifiably productive by trying the other one. To be legitimately productive, there is one other number to try, too: my US cell number — +1 503.334.9455 — now used by my mother. After spending the winter in Honolulu with only a cell phone and some beautiful beaches to keep her company, Mom is apparently a new mobile convert. “I knew she’d get hooked,” I said to my dad recently. “I knew it. I knew it!”
Mailing Address
Well, no more snail mail, I think. India’s just going to be too complicated. If you have the urge, though, please feel free to send something to my folks house, where I can pick it up in August. I’ll appreciate it just as much. Promise.
